Arlo Guthrie - "Massachusetts"

In Massachusetts Monday April 21st is Patriots' Day. We at Rising Son chose a special song to join in the celebration, “Massachusetts” by Arlo Guthrie!

This song was written by Arlo for the album Amigo, released in 1976. Five years later, in 1981, “Massachusetts” would be adopted as the official state folk song. In July of 1981, a ceremony was held at the Massachusetts State House in Boston which was attended by Arlo as well as fans who joined from around the state.
