Arlo wrote "Moon Song" for the final episode of the television series "Byrds of Paradise," in which he played the character Alan Moon. He and his friend Cyril Pahinui performed the song in the episode. Arlo later invited Cyril to rerecord the song for his album "Mystic Journey."
